The Used Books Blog is a book blog with book reviews and commentary. For nearly three years I worked at Alibris, helping readers find books they thought they’d never find. It turns out I read less while working there, particularly since my commute was all on the highway, in my sun-bleached 93 Toyota Tercel which is now sans air-conditioning and radio. I think of it as a sort of digital era sweat lodge where I can meditate and purge the evil influences of the day.
My new day job commute allows me to use public transportation giving me one full hour of additional reading each day. So in the past I may have read a book every 7-10 days, now I’m reading a book every 2-5 days! As someone who genuinely enjoys books, this is an amazing bonus.
I do miss the book world though, so I decided to revive my paltry blog and start talking about the books I’ve read, commenting on the industry from time to time and perhaps even starting a quote contest. So stay tuned and enjoy the Used Books Blog.
