Find Used Books
Finding used books isn’t dreadfully tough really, but it warrants a quick little primer. There are plenty of places to get used books and most of your local independent bookstores are likely to have them. You can also visit your local Goodwill or Library to snatch books for rock bottom prices. Sometimes though, you’re looking for something off the beaten path. The local stores might not have it and you start to tire of the trips to Goodwill only to find Grisham, Clancy, Steele and others staring back at you.
Enter the Internet. Yes, if you’re stumped and can’t find a title it’s time to go online where the world is your store. There are plenty of destinations to check including Abebooks, Alibris, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Biblio. Now, you may have a favorite so by all means, keep shopping there. But the stock at one site might not be the same as the others. The more rare the book, the better the chance it might be at say … only 3 of the 5 I mentioned.
That’s where book search sites like AddAll and Bookfinder can help you out. These two leading sites will search the sites I mentioned and many more and give you a laundry list of results sorted by store and price. Both are good - AddAll runs a good site and Anirvan and Charlie, the brains behind Bookfinder have developed a well-deserved following.
